Talented athlete Rita Bakisheva from Almaty won the World Gymnasiade in France and became the champion of the World Universiade. Regional taekwondo federations (WT) were established in Abai, Ulytau, and Zhetysu regions. Zhansel Deniz won bronze at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
